Hello Gmat club members, experts, test takers and high scorers how are you. I am in a dilemma and need your advice on it.

Currently i am practicing (700+) + (OFFICIAL) TAG on GMAT club but those questions are really hard and are of quite a different nature and require a different tactic than 600-700 level questions. i am afraid that if i keep practicing these 700+ tag i would perform low on 600-700 level question those appear early on in test (since such question requires different tactics than 700+ level questions). what is your take on it should i go on practicing 700+ tag only or should i practice 600-700 level questions as well. My target is somewhere between 740-770.

Last question is where could I get practice material for IR section on GMAT club I cant see it in tags sections

Regards,
Ali
You should practice the easy questions as well. In fact, it'd be a good idea to do all official questions. Start with the ones that you feel comfortable with, and work your way up.

Hi Ali,

I'll be happy to offer you the advice that you're looking for, but I'm going to need answers to my original questions first. Based on the information that you've provided, it's not clear whether you need "beginners advice" or not. "Your way" of approaching this process has earned you a 430 on two separate attempts - so if your goal is to score 700+, then you are going to have to make some big changes to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. By extension, that might require some 'beginners advice' that you think you currently have (but you might actually be missing).

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

AjiteshArun i am comfortable with 700+ my angle is to know what percent of these questions are there in test let say if you answered first 5 questions correctly algorithm will jump to 700 or it will jump to 700 at the mid of test

The GMAT does not use this 500, 600, 700... system to measure the difficulty of questions. Let me know how you want to apply the information you have asked for (percentage of 700+ questions, when the algorithm gives you difficult questions...) and I'll be better able to help you understand whether that information is available, and if it is, whether it is usable.

Hi Ali,

I’m glad you reached out, and I’m happy to help. Since you scored 430 on the GMAT some time ago, it would be helpful to get an up-to-date baseline GMAT score. Could you take an official MBA.com exam? Once you take the exam, please report back here with your score breakdown, and I can provide some further advice.
