I was dinged at Yale too. I actually saw this post and decided to check my e-mail. Sure enough dinged. Not too sad, I am already in at one school which I prefer to go to over Yale. All in all, this was a terrible year to try to get into Yale.

I had GMAT of 710, GPA of 3.7, PhD, Work ex in IBM and a start up, if these stats are not good enough for Yale, then what is? (But I am in compettive pool of american indians)

Maybe its the PHD? I mean, if you've already progressed to the highest possible level in one field, why would you need an MBA? I presume you had a good story for this, right?

In any case, sorry to hear about the ding. Don't sweat it.

I am sorry to hear that. Well Yale seemed 2 be extra competitive this year.

Apparently they reduced the class size due to some restructuring of their program and then they had about 40 deferred applicants from last year!

It's a ding party! I knew it was coming, but now it is finally official.

Dear eazyb81:

Thank you for your interest in the Yale School of Management. After careful consideration of your application, we regret that we are unable to offer you admission to the Class of 2009.

Due to the large number of high quality applications we receive each year, we are faced with the difficult task of selecting a small incoming class from a very competitive applicant pool. Unfortunately, this means that we are unable to offer admission to many otherwise qualified individuals.

I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Woa! Sorry to hear that!

This year seems to be extra selective year and there are very few GMAT Clubbers with offers from top schools! I have been member of this forum for the last couple of years and definitely this is one of the toughtest year!

Hope we get some good news rolling!

I am fortunate and know that I am only interested in Investment Management after B-School. I will most likely be attending Wisconsin ASAP. I have decisions pending from NYU & UNC. Since the time I turned in application, I have done additional research and decided for my situation my preference ranked as follows:

1) NYU or Wisconsin ASAP
2) Yale
3) UNC

I just wanted to clarify, when you say American Indian, do you mean Native American? If so, then that would be a shocker. If you are Indian from India, then that is different.

Oh! What are your plans about joining schools? What if you do not get your PR before you need to start?

jainan24, I got in but will drop it anyway. I visited Yale, and to be honest, I wasn't impressed at all. The lectures, students, the asmosphere, everything are just mediocre (some students are kinda arrogant, and believe it or not, some of them look not very smart). Therefore, without a scholarship, I'd rather go with Emory. Only a ultra-elite or Duke will change my decision, but sadly, I didn't apply to any of those schools :?, so I will go to Emory for sure.

ha, Mark, are you teasing me of the Kelley's ding?
The fact that I'm an internation student had various effects to different schools. Some of them, with low portion of int.student, might want me, while others with tons of int.students didn't even put their eyes on me. (And I blew the interview at Indiana, by the way)
