Hi everyone...this is my first post ....unfortunately I discovered the forum only a couple of days before my test...wish I had earlier and then could have made use of some great insight available ! Took the GMAT yesterday and got a disappointing 620 (Q48,V27). Totally screwed up my verbal, in particular RCs & CRs....Read on the forum that the verbal part is much difficult to improve upon than the Quant. Also, noticed that most of the practice tests were repeating the RCs & CRs and thus my practice test score was in the range of 680 - 720.. and very misleading...can people having same problem share their experiences of how they are working on improving their verbal.....also, is 620 even worth giving it a shot or should I stick to taking the test again?...planning to apply to schools in NY (Stern,columbia,rutgers,Baruch) & Maryland. Any input is deeply appreciated...

Hi skyhigh, I'm afraid 620 will not make it for stern or columbia. You should try again. Verbal is indeed tougher and takes a longer time to improve. Read the many other posts in the "share your experience" section to know how to improve verbal. However, a good start would be to participate in the verbal forum discussions. Good luck again.
