Study, Study, and Study some for verbal and polish your quant....use the sc, cr, and rc 1000 to enhance your skills.

Well you scored a 48 in Q so I don't think Quant is what hurt you. That 34V did. What was your avg verbal score in practice exams? If you were noticeably higher, for next time, if you retake, dont let the math section influence your approach on the verbal section. Verbal you need to stay 100% focused to do well on.

My 1-2 months or so of GMAT preparation yielded me 670. What next for me? I performed with probably 75-80% of my potential in the exam. First 4-5 qs in quant consumed almost everything whatever I had after that! 15 mins!!! I think I just panicked!!. Why couldnt I get it right!!!

Verbal has been my weak point esp. RC and SC.

What next from here? I am a non-native speaker.

Scores:
6 challenges: 70-100 percentile
2 MGMAT: 680, 740
2 GMATPrep: 680, 720

qs: did i take it too lightly or I just became nervous?

feel sad! no more fun weekend for me :(

First 670 is pretty decent score..it can get you in most top colleges..
If you still want to break that 7XX figure..then go for the kill

I agree with ashkrs that your score isn't bad by any means. Of course, it is a personal decision to retake it. So if you feel like you didn't perform up to your potential, then you should retake it. Also, if you are trying to make up for something else in your profile, it makes sense to retake it.
