I am planning to disclose my disciplinary record (7 minor cases from freshmen year tampering with smoke alarms, fake ID - All are non-academic, non sexual harassment, non violent in nature) to the schools I apply to and I had a few questions in case anybody knows about this.
I transferred to another institution from which I graduated but the first two years of my academic career are from this institution (they do not disclose it on the transcript). I do not have bad grades (Scholarship student etc.) and in fact my grades and community involvement were higher during these moments of indiscretion.
What is the likelihood that they would request my undergraduate institution for my disciplinary record?
Do you believe I am making a mistake disclosing these (occurred 7 years ago but had a major life changing impact on me)?
I really want the MBA to be my redemption and therefore a clean slate is important to me. I’ve worked very hard for the past 7 years to make up for these mistakes and can demonstrate it in multiple aspects of my profile. Now I’m afraid if they request for the record, all my efforts will be in vain as they may reject me solely on the basis of this.
