To all prospies, if you don't know about
Discover Ross, I strongly encourage you to attend.
https://www.bus.umich.edu/Admissions/Dis ... efault.htmLast year was the first year and I totally loved it. It gave me a really great understanding of what Ross is all about and strengthened my essays since I was able to tailor it much better than if I'd only read the website or gone to a presentation. I met profs, students, alums and most importantly, folks in Admissions, which was a huge benefit because they knew my name and face. I personally believe it helped me get a partial scholarship to Ross. Also, many of the women I met at Discover Ross were accepted and are now current students. (Men and women can attend, but last year it drew only women).
There is an application and the deadline is Oct 5. If you have any questions about it, shoot me a message.
Below is the description of Discover Ross from the website:
The Ross School of Business offers prospective MBA students an opportunity to learn more about our MBA program from the perspective of female students, faculty and alumni during Discover Ross, Friday, November 13 - Saturday, November 14, 2009. The event is
open to applicants of any gender who have demonstrated commitment or intent to promote the advancement of women in management.
A variety of panels, workshops and social events will enable participants to learn about the paths taken by Ross women before, during and after their MBA. Additionally, prospective students will gain in-depth knowledge on MAP, our Institutes, clubs, recruiting, student life and other aspects of the Ross MBA program. Finally, social events held at numerous Ann Arbor hotspots will enable participants to get a flavor of Ann Arbor life, while mingling with current students, alumni, faculty, admissions and other staff members. Please see the agenda for more information and details.
