Agree with jordanhendrix. If you take a site like Facebook, for instance, I only let people see my profile picture ('cos you don't really have a choice with this one) - so I keep that one like .... normal, and that's it. There's an option to send me a message or add me as a friend, and I usually don't add people I don't know personally.

I'd also add to make sure your linkedin.com profile is congruent with your resume. While adcoms might not look at it, it may not look right if your resume says something totally different than linkedin.
