What I'm trying to ask is whether the quant concepts on 500-550 level be different from concepts at 550-600 level? Or the concepts are the same just the problems get harder. I only need a meager close to 600 score for the school I want to get into. I was wondering what I should concentrate on. My verbal is OK I just need work on quant. Do I only need to know certain concepts or all of them?
Is there a list of question types I would see within 500-600 level problems somewhere? I'd love to get my hand on that. I have the OG 12 but it doesn't say which questions belong to which scoring range.

Interesting question. For most topics, the same concepts are tested at all levels, so harder questions just test the concepts in a more difficult/tricky way. But there is some purely anecdotal evidence that the mix of topics may depend a little (very little!) on how one is doing. Some that I have heard: more probability, combinatorics, and statistics at higher levels (but still only a handful).
At the mid-range you are focused on, it's probably best to be aware of all topics tested, but to really focus on the concepts everyone will see a lot of: translation of words into algebra, number properties (factors, divisibility, roots, exponents, etc.), algebraic manipulations (incl. inequalities), "part" problems in both words and equation form (fractions/decimals/percents), and to a slightly lesser extent, geometry.
The best way to raise your score is to build a very solid foundation under your goal score: if you want a score of 600, minimize your errors under 600 (for example). Error avoidance is all the more important the "easier" a question is.
As for the OG, it's supposed to be in order of difficulty. For a really rough estimate, the 500-600 questions are probably those between 1/2 and 3/4 through of each set. I'd recommend working with the first 3/4 of the questions, so that you also see some of the "easy" ones, as you will on test day.
