Hi,

I know this sounds silly, but... Do I need a passport when applying to b-schools?

My passport was expired couple years ago, and I cannot even find it (probably I need to get one soon).

I am a US Citizen, and I will be applying to only US B-schools, hopefully top 5.
Should I actually provide my passport number/copy of passport when applying to b-schools?

I just want to focus on GMAT and application at this point.


In addition, I think I saw a thread that we have to provide a copy of driver license, bills for the proof of address, and passport.
I am fine with providing all the documents, but again do I need a passport before I (hopefully) admit?

Nope. Most MBA degrees now-a-days offer an International trip as part of global exposure program. So obviously then you need a passport. Please do remember that most programs schedule this trip in their/end of first semester. Not having a passport doesn't affect your admit chances but make sure you start the proceedings soon.

Thank you! I now can focus on gmat/application process without worrying about getting a passport.

I think I saw a post that someone was required to send a copy of passport. Not sure, if it was for the application or for the background screening. Was it just for international students? Or, was I just misinformed? :evil: :evil:
