I would not suggest you to use Barron from a personal experience shared by many others. I don't know Barron's quality with other standardized test but their GMAT material is of dubious quality.

Thanks for the heads-up.

My intention is to use Barron's only in order to learn how to set-up word problems, and for nothing else. I am learning word problems more or less for the first time, therefore an overly easy text such as Barron's is appropriate at this very early stage.

About three weeks from now I plan to dump the easy texts and graduate to study materials that are tough and tricky. I'll be asking you guys for recommended texts then.

I know for sure TRIGS are not tested on the GMAT and i have heard combination/perm/prob are usually tested

I will not suggest you to waste your money in buying Baron's book. One of my friend bought it and he is not very happy.
