I'm currently contemplating of taking the GMAT (for the 2nd time, as I was not satisfied with the first score). I've revised my plan to apply for b-school. The earliest I'm applying is 2007. Will it be better to take the test in 2006 instead, or does timing even matter when addmission committees evaluate your app? Thanks.
I think the most important thing is preparation. If you are most prepared to take the GMAT this year take it this year, otherwise take it next year. I can't imagine that it matters when it comes to your apps. Although personally I think it is better to get it out of the way before you apply so you don't have to deal with that and applications at the same time. Seems to me that you have plenty of time to do both.
I would not worry about a difference of just one year. Schools generally have far more important variables to consider than if you took the test in 2005 or 2006.
