Having a non-engineering background could help, though business schools will consider how you did in that degree too (GPA) and also place importance on the kind of work experience you have since graduating (degree of leadership, accomplishments, etc.), in addition to just what you studied in school. The religion won't be a factor though because schools won't ask that info and aren't allowed to decide based on a factor such as that.
The 780 is great and will definitely help!
