I tend to disagree that 36 will play to your weakness for MBA application. Infact,it is wealth of work experience that can play to your advantage. You must demonstrate in your application that your work experince will help and enrich learnings of other MBAs and similarly you will able to appreciate better various priciples of management and relate them in real life situations.
I finished my MBA from one of the top 20 schools( Of course, not top ten) and average work experience of MBA student was between 5-6 years.

So, i would suggest to focus on all aspect of your application and work experience should be a strength, not a weakness.

I agree...Thats one of the dimensions of diversity I would say..Quality Work Ex I think has a decent weightage in the selection process...But I will wait to hear from others.
