Does the FAFSA affect any school decisions?

Question

If you submit your FAFSA before schools decide upon an admit or deny, do they look at the form to see how much money you will be loaned or anything like that?

Can they see what other schools you sent the FAFSA to?

Nearly all schools say that make decisions without regard to financial need. in fact, I believe they are handled by completely separate deparments.

schools can see what other schools you sent the form to. However, as palihu said FAFSA goes to FinAid department not Admissions.

I was talking to an insider at a top school and a lot of these departments are interconnected. The dean and directors in the career services at this one school actually had say in one applicant and decided to admit this person.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was some kind of connection.
