Hey,
Just a quick question: When you apply, do they count you towards which region you're applying from or all applicants are equal (which I doubt). In other words, I am an Asian Australian that has spent my last 3 years in China, so when apply for the schools, do they count me as an applicant applying from China or Australia?

It counts a lot and could be a significant advantage or disadvantage.
I suspect you would be viewed as an Australian applicant (that is your citizenship, correct?) with international experience in China. My guess is both of those factors would be favorable to your application. I am not sure how many people apply out of Australia (to U.S. schools), but I think the number is relatively low, which could help you stand out. China is a hot market right now, obviously, which should also help your chances. Good luck.

. One thing I must tell you, however, is that being Australian alone isn't enough. You need to use the Australian background to your advantage in your essays. I've already had 2 dings and 1 waitlist (and I applied from Australia).
