Does x+y=0?
1.xy<0
2. xsq=ysq

E
1. xy<0.
x=1, y=-1 OK.
x=-1, y=3 NO.

2. xsq=ysq, xsq-ysq=0, fine.
s=0, or q=0 then ?

Does x+y=0?
1.xy0 so xy<0.But x,y can be different, so - insuff.

2. xsq=ysq we can cancel sq, so x=y. If x,y=0 then x+y=0, if x,y=1 then 1+1=2 etc Insuff

3.Together insuff. From 1 statment either x or y must be negative. From 2 statment x=y, thus x,y must be both either negative or positive.

E.

Wait a sec. Did the post mean sq=square as in x^2 or xsq where s and q are 2 different variables?

I'm guessing its x^2, cos that makes more computational sense..
