Hello Members,
Wanted to clear my head before I begin again. I had started my GMAT journey in 2021, but had to leave in between due to lot of reasons.
I am standing again at a junction where I need to decide, but dynamics have changed, hence asking your insights.
Constraint : I am targeting only Indian B schools, mostly top 3 IIMs. Studying abroad is not a possibility for me now due to financial and family reasons. Also, I understand, getting back to India in 3-5 years of time span is difficult if I choose to study abroad. Please correct me if this assumption is wrong.
Questions :
1) Should I consider doing full time executive MBA after 13 years of IT / software industry experience?
3) If NO, then what are some valuable options that could yield similar results alike of doing an MBA. I am sure there are no substitutes when compared to getting a degree from an elite intuition, but in case, if I do not have the right exposure then I would like to get advised.
3) Most intriguing question - How the person will be treated during their placements? Will the previous drawn salary set a minimum bar to the recruiters and they offer at least the same CTC if not 2x or 3x. Or, getting a lesser salary could also be a strong possibility?

I believe a 1-year executive MBA from top 3 IIMs is worth it.
However, you cannot get a minimum salary guarantee from anywhere at the time of recruitment. Your 13 years of workex + your acquired skills in MBA should translate into a higher package, but there is no guarantee.
p.s. You really should have sorted out the answers to all these questions by now and should have been neck deep into your GMAT prep, considering that the applications for IIMs are already underway.

Thank you Ashish for the insight. I am not planning for this year. I am targeting for the class of 2023-2024, hence I will be writing my exam next year.
