Hi,

I am working in the Data Analytics field for the past 4.8 years and planning to do an MBA (apply in 1-2 years). I just wanted to check will it be hard to get a job post-MBA considering I will be around 7 YOE at the time of course. I have worked in IT Services (Amdocs), Management Consulting (ZS), and Technology (PayPal & Expedia).

I am targeting schools in US and EU, should I got for 1 year or 2 year MBA program as I noticed in the US most of the schools are offering the 2-year programs.

Location- India

Advice Needed.

Thanks

Hi muggergammy , If you have had a decent amount of exposure in technology roles at PayPal/ Expedia, your profile would fall in the feeder category for PM or tech roles post MBA. However, if you have uncommon goals for post-MBA (such as the desire to switch industries), any further delay is not recommended. While there aren't any commonly known variables for MBA grads with 7 YOE (from a job point of view unless you have random post-MBA plans), the best strategy would be to start applying as soon as you can to give ample time for applications in case you are unable to get into your target schools in the first attempt.

Definitely aim for a 730+ GMAT as your profile does not seem highly differentiated.

Best wishes

Might be worth researching the types of schools that are a good fit with your profile and your intended goals. If there's someone who was admitted who has a similar profile to yours that may be a good sign. If the US and a 1-year MBA program is your ideal, there are some US schools that offer it such as Kellogg.
