67%Q and 98%V may be a concern to many top schools because there's a substantial imbalance. They often state they like to see a balance between the score. Also, considering you might be an Indian (sagar ...) you are competing against a very math-strong pool.

But then, 700+ is competitve and depending on how strong your rest of the app is you might do OK. Though personally I think you might want to consider a retake if you're very sure you can beat this score AND can improve quant - but that's a decision only you can make based on your circumstances and a host of other factors.

Hi Everyone.

Well, my long road to the 700 club is over. I took the GMAT on Friday and received the score above. While I am pleased with the overall result, do you think the fact that I did much better in Verbal than in Quant will be a cause of concern when it comes time for me to apply to B-schools? My Quant was 67%, and my Verbal was 98%. What makes this stranger is that I scored consistently higher in Quant than in Verbal through all of my practice tests.

I will second Necromonger's message. 67% will be a concern for the top schools (see the B-school application forum for an analysis I did breaking down percentiles of each section at Wharton). If you have other things in your background that can re-assure Adcoms that you are very capable with math, then it may be less of a problem.

I also agree that, if you are Indian, the group you are competing with has higher average scores at most of the top schools - and in particular higher Q scores. So, 710 is a very good score, but you'll need to consider some other factors before you know if it it's worth the effort to re-take.

Hi Guys.

Thanks for your advice. Yes, I am of Indian descent. :-) I can see why a top b-school would have a concern about scores as widely divergent as mine. I am looking at a Top 30 school, and a part-time program, at that. I hope that those factors, in addition to my 10+ years serving in various management capacities will make this a non-issue for them.

I really don't want to take the GMAT again.

If you are looking outside the top 15 at part-time programs I'm sure your score will be fine.
