Not really. What books did you use to prepare (besides OG 12)?

Hi bb,

It is great to see your reply!

I have done Manhattan SC and OG12.

Here is my story:

I prepared for three and half months. Besides Manhattan SC and OG12, I gone through the material prepared by one private tutor. Stuff was well compiled.

In my practice tests, I was scoring on an avg: 690 (range: 660-730).

I gave almost all the online CATs. Also completed all MGMAT CATs. In MGMAT, I was scoring 48-50 in quant and 36-41 in verbal.

I gave official GMAT test on 15th July 2010 and scored 660 (Q-49, V-31). I am disappointed with my score. I want to apply to top 30 USA business schools and with this score I can not get into them. I am planing to retake the test within one month.
Please suggest- is it sufficient time to prepare? What books and tests should I follow? What should be the preperation stretegy?

I will be greatful to you if you guide me.

Thanks

Hi shilendrajadon,

I would focus on your weak areas if you can identify them (sometimes not easy). For example, if you are bad with SC, focus on the SC books (don't just do questions).

The rule of thumb is that you should always start with study books. questions should be the last resort if you have exhausted all other prep approaches.

Does this make sense?
