So I have 2 doubts.

1. Joe went to the store , and some fruits were bought by him.
Is this sentence okie? can we connect two clauses, one having active and the other negative.

2. Situation in which ' AND' does not connect clauses and same subject is for both the verbs.
Subject + active voice AND Passive voice.

I mean, the subject is same for both active and passive verbs connected by Noun and

I hope I have understood your doubt correctly Gurpreet. In any case here is my take on your question:

1. Joe went to the store , and some fruits were bought by him.
Is this sentence okie? can we connect two clauses, one having active and the other negative.
This sentence is not correct. See in this case the passive voice is unnecessarily wordy. The doer of both actions is Joe. So if the second action is also written in active voice, it would result in parallel and concise structure:

Correct - Joe went to the store and bought some fruits.

2. Situation in which ' AND' does not connect clauses and same subject is for both the verbs.
Subject + active voice AND Passive voice.

Yes there are cases when such a thing happens. In fact we discussed this in one of the live sessions as well:
OG12#36
Dressed as a man and using the name...., Deborah Sampson, ..., joined the Army at the age of 22, was injured three times, and was discharged in 1783 because...
In this correct sentence, the first verb is in active voice and the second and third verbs are in passive voice. Now this is absolutely correct since the context requires the second and third verbs to be in passive voice.

Hope this helps. Also, if this does not answer your question, then please feel free to provide some official sentences or some other sentences and then pose your question. :)

Payal

Thanks Payal for such a prompt reply :).....

Yes it cleared my doubt. So as long as the context require the usage of passive voice, we can use conjunction 'and' or ',and' or any other conjunction to parallel active and passive sentences.
m I right?

Actually I used to remove the choices having active and passive in parallel. But while practicing I did found some sentences in official material, and they confused me.

Stressing on meaning is the only savior as suggested by e-gmat. :) Thanks again.
