Hi All,
I have doubt with the below listed IR question. This question is one of the official released IR questions.
Could someone the logic behind the ans to the first question which is "5 out of 6".
Thanks,

Hi harikris,
On problems like this, a vital thing to remember is that the sum of all probabilities is 1. If it's hard to find the odds of something happening, try figuring the odds of it NOT happening, then subtracting the result from 1. The remainder is the desired outcomes, what you're looking for!
So here, the first question asks for the odds of getting a high school graduate or an individual under 30 (or both.) Well, what DON'T we want? Someone over 30 without a diploma. Where is that? The middle!
There's five symbols in the middle, out of 30 symbols. Those are the 5 we don't want. So, there are 25 symbols total that are desired choices, out of 30. 25/30 = 5/6, the correct answer.
I hope this helps, and good luck!
