Hi ProKiller,

First off, a 680/Q48 is a strong Score, so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. As such, another retest might not be necessary (and raising a 580 to a 680 is a significant achievement, so you shouldn't consider this a 'failure'). Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

If you do choose to continue studying, then it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) How long did you study before each of your 2 attempts? For this 2nd attempt, how many hours did you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used over the course of ALL of your studies? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hello EMPOWERgmatRichC ! :)

Thank you so much for your reply. :please:

First, let me go to the questions straight:

1) How long did you study before each of your 2 attempts? For this 2nd attempt, how many hours did you typically study each week? - Before 1st attempt - 1 week :tongue_opt3 . Before 2nd attempt - 4.5 months (2.5 months + 2 weeks unplanned break + 2 months) with 12-13 hours per week. :?
2) What study materials have you used over the course of ALL of your studies? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used? - For 1st, only the GMAT Prep mocks. For 2nd, eGMAT Verbal online course + Manhattan MGMAT Tests + OG 2018 + Verbal Review 2016 + Quant Review 2016 + GMATClub Tests. :dazed
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)? - GMAT - For 2nd attempt, I took mocks almost every weekend during the last 2 months (6 MGMAT + 2 GMATPrep).
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to? - I am targeting R1 this year. India 1 year full-time Executive MBA for any top 5 IIMs.

Next, regarding the current score - I know that because of my overrepresented pool (Indian IT Male) and average GPA, 680 won't suffice.
I need to get 700, else I am dusted. :shh:

Thanks for your kind words and guidance. As the next step, I will surely reach out to the Admission Experts ( https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/ ) out here.

Thanks once again!

You may get more "bang" for your study buck by pivoting more towards Verbal prep. It may be easier to gain the 20-30 points on your SC than improving high-level Quant.
