Intended meaning-
- the events is cabana shows how energy transformation is possible.
- but it may happen reluctantly.
- why? The world is driven by pragmatism than by a desire....

Errors-
-A,D,E- Modifies events. wrong.
B-driving more pragmatism...- wrong structure.

The simple answer is that C doesn't have any of the flaws of the others. These were covered very succinctly and effectively by Ghostrider3147 above. If there's anything there I can elaborate on, let me know.

The structure of C is a main clause followed by two adverbial modifiers. Both of the modifiers add detail to the idea that the transformation is possible. It's possible, but it may only happen a certain way, driven by certain factors. That's it.

Having said all that, I must say that I don't love this question, which I think I can safely assume is not official. In the first place, a transformation can't "happen reluctantly." Reluctance is a trait of people, not transformations, and no people are directly mentioned. Also, "avoid burning of fossil fuel that releases gasses" is not very well put together, even if it's not definitively wrong. If this one gives you a bad feeling, then lean back on official SC for this final month!
