Planned to Vote: Did not actually vote = 4:1

This still doesn't gives us the total number of voters polled which is needed to determine of the majority plan.

Not sufficient.

S2: These refer to the actual votes . Not sufficient.

Answer: E

St1: Gives info about people planning to vote Q and people not planning to vote Q.
Say 100 people are polled. Then 20 says we vote and 5 says we will not vote for Q. Other 75 may not vote to anybody. So majority is not with Q. If numbers are 60 and 15 then majority is with Q.: INSUFF

St2: Wrong information. We don't need actual votes.: INSUFF

Together also INSUFF

I was about to say A. But this is a very ambiguous question.

Say there are 100 people. 20 say we will vote for Q and 5 say we will not vote for Q. other 75 say we will not participate in voting.

1. If majority is people who are voting then we can say answer is A.
2. If majority is all people polled then answer is E.

I am pretty sure GMAT will not trick you on the wordings of the problem.

The question asks about ppl who claim to vote for Q.

stmt 1) tells us that 4 out of 5 ppl claimed to vote for Q.
stmt 2) tells the real #s not how many ppl claimed.

One thing I have noticed is, except OG, GMATPrep, MGMAT, LSAT, all other books/ online study material many times try to trick you with the wording and in doing so they make question ambiguous. Instead of learing something people loose faith in those books.

Instead of learing something people loose faith in those books. Agreed.. Kaplan is best of all to undermine one's confidence by some of its weirdest questions..
