Another vote for A,

If duration of second stage is known than it is possible to derive the total one, by calculating height in the begininng of descending procedure.

yes, i found where I made a mistake,

in statement 2 if total time is known we can compose an equation in the form of

x*a + (total time spend-x)*b = the height

x and total time spend were unknown, so with info about TTS we can find x

Ans: D
