that was my first answer to the problem sparky.

but arent you forgetting to factor in the "unsures" into the first equation.

We have people who could go Fm and Un.

As long as we know favourable vs everything else and the total number of people we are set. They also can drink coffee or tea but it's included in everything else.

I would say E as neither of the statements gives any information about the people who said 'not sure'

I am confused....

Vithal where did you get this question?

I would go with C..

though E comes to mind....when I am confused...my strategy on exam day is pick E when I am confused by a DS question.

I agree with Sparky that it is A.

(1) 40 people didn't favor either M or N. ie., 60 people either favored M or favored N. 30 people favored N. So 60-30=30 people favored M but not N and 10 people favored both M and N. Sufficient.

(2) 10 people unfavored both M and N.
FM+FN-FMN+UFM+UFN-UFMN+USM+USN-USMN=200
40+30-FMN+20+35-UFMN+40+35-USMN=200
We know UFMN=10, but don't know USMN, so we can't get FMN.
