1) 1/t1 + 1/t2 = 1/t
t1*t2/(t1+t2) =t= (2/3)* t1
3*t1*t2 = 2*t1*t1+ 2 t2*t1
t1*t2 = 2*t1*t1
t2= 2t1
not sufficient

2) t2=2*t1
not sufficient

combined not suffIcient

so lets say time taken by machine x=x and time taken by y=y

rate=(x+y)/xy <-- combined

1) says (x+y)/xy=2/3x

x+y=2/3y or x=(5/3)y ..ok so the 5/3y-y=2/3y insuff

2) 2y=x

2y-y=y..we still dont have a value for y..Insuff

5/3Y=2y ..this is not possible.. unless y=0.. which doesnt make sense..so i think the 2 statements contradict each other..
