each copy of a 300-page book is missing exactly one page

each copy is not missing the same page

=> any page in the book can be missed

text of the book is only 288 pages, the other 12 are blank

probability that any single copy is missing a page of text = \(\frac{288}{300}\) = \(\frac{24}{25}\)
