Hi Experts,
I have a query regarding the character limit for the short essay posed by Duke.
Duke says:
"Answer both of the following questions. For each question, respond in 500 characters only (the equivalent of about 100 words)."
I am currently at 92 words totalling 590 characters.
I want to clarify that it is indeed the character limit that we have to focus on and not the word limit.
Because as far as expected average word limit is concerned I am well within 100 words. However I'm exceeding the character limit by 90 characters.
Would be grateful if someone could help me out.

The word count is only provided as an estimate. Indeed, you must follow the character limit.
