Let Tom = T, Bela = B, Amanda = A, and T + B + A = 16 with T, B, A ≥ 1 and B < T.
(1) B < 3 → B = 1 or 2.
But without A’s goals, T is not fixed. Could be multiple values. Not sufficient.

(1) Bela scored fewer than 3 goals during the season.
T+B+A =16
if B =1, then ; T+A =15
if B =2, then; T+A =14
if B=3, then; T+A =13
The values of T can take any value from 1 to 14.
Hence, Sufficient.
Statement 2:
(2) Amanda scored 12 goals during the season
T+B+A =16
T+B = 4
B has to be less than T.
if B = 1, then T =3. ✅
if B= 2, then T = 2. Then, wrong.
