To calculate the average earnings per year, we will have to calculate the total earnings first.
The earnings in each year from 86 through 88, from the graph, are 5, 10 and 12 million dollars respectively. The total earnings are 27 million dollars.
The average earnings per year = Total earnings / Number of years.
Therefore, average earnings per year = 27 / 3 = 9 million dollars.
The correct answer option is C.
