The shape of "Cubical block of wood" is a CUBE.

A cube has 6 faces(all square shaped) of equal area, where area of any face=\((edge)^2\)

So, surface area of the block=\(6*2^2=24\) sq. inches

Ans. (E)

Each face is 2^2 = 4 square inches, and there are 6 faces on a cube. Thus, the surface area is 6 x 2^2 = 6 x 4 = 24 square inches.

Answer: E

Area of one face = 2 * 2 = 4 square inches,
Area of 6 faces = 6 * 4 = 24 square inches

Answer choice: E
