Solution



To find:
    • Among the given options, which one is not equal to 6!

Approach and Working:
Let us simplify each option choice individually as following:

    • 3! * 5! = 6 * 5! = 6!
    • 4! * 30 = 4! * 5 * 6 = 6!
    • 6^2 * 20 = 6 * 6 * 4 * 5 = 6 * 3 * 2 * 4 * 5 = 6 * 5 * 4 * 3 * 2 = 6!
    • 7!/7 = 7 * 6!/7 = 6!
    • 12!/2! = 3 * 4 * 5 * 6 * 7 * 8 * 9 * 10 * 11 * 12, which is not equal to 6!

Hence, the correct answer is option E.

simply solve for each given expression
6!= 720
all options give 720 except 12!/2

Since 12!/2! = 12 x 11 x 10 x 9 x … x 3, we see that it’s much bigger than 6!.

Answer: E
