Each person in a group wrote down the number corresponding to the day of month of their birthday. Was any number written down by more than one person in the group?

Each person in the group was asked to write the number of the day he was born.
So the possible outcomes are {1,2,3,4,5,......29,30,31}. If we consider the month with 31 days.
We need to find : Was any number written down by more than one person in the group?
Statement 1:
(1) The number of people in the group was greater than 35.
We allot one day for each person till we fill the 31 days. And still we are left with 32,33,34,35 persons.
Invariably, these persons might land in one of the 31 slots available.
We can definitely say, the number was more than 1.
Hence, Sufficient
Statement 2:
(2) The number of people in the group was less than 41.
The number can be anywhere from 1-40.
if the number is greater than 31, we have an answer as YES.
if the number is less than 31, the answer is NO, as more spots will remain vacant to be filled.
Since, we don’t have a conclusive answer of yes or no.
