Hjort thanks for your reply and frankly speakin i dint think i'd even the slightest of chance if all those ultra elites that you mentioned.. As for my goals, i am looking to specialise in human resources and related stuff and obviously looking forward to working in the HR dept for a top firm and thereby take up a position of managing global operations in the future. I am thinking of concentrating more on schools which are strong in general management. I have some stuff to get clarified.

1). Considering my scores and fact that i write my essays well, do i stand a chance in UCLA,CMU?

2). How good is a shot to the ultra elites that you have mentioned. I have always considered schools like HBS,stanford to be extra-stretch schools mainly because of my limited work experience.

I know that scores play an important role but so does work experience and i guess tats my weakest part in my application. Any advice on how to project my work exp in my application.

I mentioned these schools because they take a positive view of younger applicants. They are low probability events for the vast majority of applicants of all ages but it is at least worth looking at them to see if they appeal to you. When it comes to GM it is tough to beat these ultra elites. As you might already know, I am a strong proponent of an explicit "opt out" portfolio selection method. I think the best portfolios are constructed when you must come up with specific reasons for excluding a give school from your portfolio.

What about HR interests you? What specific function in HR do you think would suit you best? What is you experience in HR to date?
