Yes the scholarship is definitely good!

I don't go to SSE but I believe it is a good school. If you want to stay there the language issue is probably going to be a problem to get the best job offers, but that's just my opinion.

Unfortunately I was too late to apply for that one, but the distinction was quite generous as well..

I am based in the Nice campus, beautiful location for sure!

Could you please elaborate what you have heard from current students and alumni since I am still undecided.

The reviews I have heard from seniors is pretty good enough. EDHEC is known for its finance department and its research. As the school has a campus each in Paris, Nice, London and Singapore, the jobs are good. Language is a barrier to get jobs.. but they do have language classes.. Fees and other expenses are comparatively less. Good value for money.

Hi guys, is anybody joining the EDHEC MSc in Finance this year?
Got accepted and was thinking about starting a group for people to get to know each other before it actually begins.

Hi I just got a late admission to the MSc in corporate finance & banking at Edhec. At the same time, I got admission to the MSc in corporate finance at EM Lyon. I have to make a decision between the two by Friday and I am really confused.
On the one hand, MSc in corporate finance at Edhec is not ranked (only MSc in finance and MSc in financial markets were preciously ranked) while MSc at EM Lyon is. Edhec provides 5 MSc in finance which is confusing. I do not know when they were originally created (vs 20 years ago at EM Lyon). Forums and alumni are not really active. In addition, I received a warm welcome at EM Lyon with a link to a platform dedicated to newcomers. I can contact alumni. EM Lyon also provides accommodation within the campus among other students while Edhec does not. From these points of view, I have the feeling to enter into a community at EM Lyon. On the other hand, the 2013 placement report for the MSc in corporate finance at Edhec alongside with its SG sponsoring seems really solid. What about the teachers in Nice vs Lille?
What are your insights? Thx

Hi, can you please share your profile?
I'm not immediately available for a call right now. However I will give you my two cents on the situation.

The different Masters in EDHEC have different aims and intented students.
As a result, what you are expecting will guide your decision.

I chose EDHEC for several reasons:
- Rankings. The ranking of its MSc in Financial Markets benefits EDHEC's other programs in Finance. Moreover, they are mostly covered in Nice which encourages solid networking with your peers from the other programs.
- Research. While it's of no direct interest to me, high level research is almost a gage of future publicity for your education. It help the school be more recognized. https://www.groupe-edhec.fr/news/la-rech ... SEC-12380- (in French)
- International Presence: EDHEC has campuses in France (Lille, Nice, Paris), the UK (London), and in Singapore. As far as I remember EM Lyon is also in Asia. It's important for me as it increases the recognition of the school name by prospective employers but also the potential of creating links with alumni.
- Alumni. I'm currently in Russia and there are plently of EDHEC alumni but Russia only hold a marginal proportion of the EDHEC Alumni. Many of them are in Paris, London, Monaco, Switzerland, the US, etc. which is crucial for me.
- Partnership. The MSc in Finance is CFA Partner, the Corporate Finance and Banking is with SG, another program with PWC. These guys know how to build relations with major actors and it's definitely a plus.
- Placement report. Looking at the placement reports, I found out that alumni from my program can get the position I am looking for. That's a sign that my efforts can take me where I intend to go with this program.
- Strong presence in London and in Paris. I don't know if you speak French but anyway have a look at this article with Google translate. https://news.efinancialcareers.com/fr-fr ... tissement/

There are many other reasons as to why I chose EDHEC over other schools but that might help you.
In French rankings, EM Lyon and EDHEC are pretty much equal.
On top of that, Nice is a nice place to be for your studies and if Monaco is of interest to you, EDHEC is certainly the main provider for finance specialists over there.

About the teaching, I cannot tell you since classes haven't started yet, but teachers body seems really strong and experienced.
I don't know either about the creation of these programs but the school has been here for over a century as far as I know.
I've had a good and positive welcome from EDHEC but there are things that can be improved obviously.
A con you noted is about accommodation. For foreign students, there's a residence five minutes by foot from the school (if there are still slots).
As a French citizen, mine will be 15-minute far but also a 100-meter far from the sea..:-)

Please let me know if oyu have more questions. I'll be happy to answer you.
And sorry for the mistakes but my brain is focused on CFA.....

Hey mate, thanks for the fast answer!
Do you think we have a chance to get an internship as an M&A analyst at SG, Rothschild, Lazard since we are not credited with the Grande Ecole background?
In addition, MSc at Edhec provides a Master's degree while I already own a Master's degree whereas MS at EM Lyon provides an advanced Master's degree and requires to already own a Master's degree. MSc at Edhec seems both very solid regarding placements and less advanced at the same time.

Hey Ebitda, sorry for the late answer, I didn't see you question.
Given the SG partnership, I'm pretty sure you would have such a chance in this program.
I don't think the Grande Ecole background is so important to companies.
Moreover, the real quality of grande ecole is usually quite low since students come from classes preparatoires in which they worked like horses. Once they join the master program, it's a lot about partying and enjoy the BS years.. Also the program goes at a much slower pace.
On the other side, a one-year program is pretty intense and requires both focus and hard work due to its condensed format.

What decision have you made?
