Greetings,
I've seen this topic a couple times after a search, but usually in reverse of my situation. My verbal score on practice exams is consistently much higher than my quantitative score.
On the GMAC software I have scored 46 twice on the Verbal (99th percentile) and 32 (31st percentile) and 39 (50th percentile) on the first and second attempts respectively.
Math has never been a strong suit of mine, I have dual degrees in classics and Mandarin, and the GMAT has been something of an afterthought (my boss asked me to go get an MBA last week). However, I am worried that this discrepancy in scores will hurt my chances more than an applicant with a similar overall score (mid-to-high 600s). From reading other posts here it seems that B schools favor high quantitative scores over high verbal scores.
Am I founded in this fear? Are there any ways I can mitigate my disastrous math performance on my applications?
Thanks for your help.
