Hi,
Would you be able to help me with some of my questions regarding school applications ? If yes, please refer to my query below :
I received my degree in engineering from one of the top engineering colleges in India. Post that I have been working with one of the top business consultancies of the world for more than three years.
I wasn't a studious student back in college and as a result ,I flunked in a couple of subjects during the first 2 years but I covered up for them over the rest of the course.
I am planning to apply to B-schools in Asia - such as NUS, Nanyang Business school, CEIBS , HKUSt etc.
Assuming that i get a decent GMAT score which is acceptable in those schools and i make a strong case in my application essays and i get good recommendations, would my poor graded be considered as a major red flag ?
Please give me an honest picture.

B-schools assess your overall academic quotient by considering several factors of which GPA and GMAT tend to be the most important. You may read more on the topic in this thread on GMAT Club:

You need to allay the concern of adcoms (that may arise from a poor GPA) about your academic horsepower to keep up with the rigor of an MBA program. And you can do that by scoring a high GMAT score (preferably 720+) and mentioning how your GPA moved up after the first two years (an upward curve counts too). You may also highlight instances of good performances, if any, in Quant/ analysis in job or academics.
Moreover, good part about test score is that it’s more recent (than GPA) and it is likely to be taken as a better reflection of your current ability.
Your GPA is water under the bridge now, but corrective steps are possible.

Thanks for sharing your profile. The review process is truly holistic and thus no one element can automatically kills your candidacy. So if every other area is strong you should be ok
