B vs C
The phrase is ''to compete for'' and phrases must be used appropriately.
In option C had there been a comma before ''growing'' it would have been at least a worthwhile effort to think about C, only to realize that C is wrong.
Option B is errorless, in option B the noun 'company' has been rightly modified by the noun phrase that follows it.
