Elements of List A and List B are combined to form List C. Is the standard deviation of List C greater than that of List A?
(1) List A is a set of consecutive positive integers.

The statements individually are not sufficient as the statements provide information of only one set. Hence, we can eliminate A, B and D.
Combined
Standard defines the spread of the numbers from the mean.
Case 1:
A = { 1, 2, 3, 4}
B = {2, 4}
C = {1, 2, 2, 3, 4, 4}
In this case, the numbers in C are closely placed around the mean.
Hence SD(C) < SD(A)
Case 2:
A = { 1, 2, 3, 4}
B = {10, 12, 14}
C = {1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 12, 14}
In this case, the numbers in C have spread away from the mean.
Hence SD(C) > SD(A)
