Hi guys,
Need your help here.
I have around one year and 10 months of work experience and I want to apply for the fall 2026 intake of the MFA at LBS.
Here's a detailed breakdown of work exp-
- Jun 2023- nov 2023- management trainee at a hospitality company- prepared SOPs, formulated campaigns to drive revenue, prepared budgets and allocated costs for campaigns
- Dec 2023- Dec 2024- Project lead- identified an opportunity to generate additional revenue, led me to spearheading the launch of a dessert and coffee brand prepared CAPEX statements, cash flow projections.
- Jan 2025- April 2025- Valuation intern- first core finance work experience
In the first two roles , I led teams, performed functions that covered all aspects of management including finance, however, I wanted to pursue only finance and hence did an internship in valuations. I am currently unemployed and do not intend to pursue any form of employment till my masters'. I am currently preparing to give the CFA level 1 exams in may 2026.
Now, my expectations from a masters in finance program-
- Build foundations in finance
- gain real world exposure
- Clubs and societies involved in finance and other practical exposure
- Strong alumni network
- Technical skills- python, Bloomberg etc
LBS MFA ticks all the boxes for me. Since I graduated in 2023, I am not sure whether I am eligible for the course.
Even though I have around 2 years of work experience, since it's not in core finance, I will not be eligible for the MIF program.
Has anyone faced similar issues? Can someone please give me advice on this?
