Interested in getting perspectives from those in the know about EMBA programs.

College and med school at top institutions
Undergrad GPA 3.93 in electrical engineering/computer sciences

Medical director of a wound management center, marketing and management roles with private practice, medical device design entrepreneurial projects initiated but no product delivered yet
Just took the GMAT with only about 10-15 hours of practice, underestimated the time crunch aspect of the quantitative section, which is my actual strongsuit, scoring a 680 (92%ile verbal but only 61%ile quant because I ran out of time

). Pretty disappointed given that I generally got nearly every math problem correct in my practice testing ... there are times I think I would have really nailed this test in rapid speed at age 17, but I'm 40 now.
Extracurricular activities including volunteer surgical care, charity support, musical composition and performance.

Living and practicing in south Florida and looking at EMBA programs vs. PT programs; presently applying to EMBA's for entering class of Fall 2011 vs. waiting to submit for January 2012 start dates.
Looking at Kellogg in Miami, Columbia, UCLA EMBA, Duke (healthcare sector program), Mccombs, Wharton (not likely to be perfect fit for me but still considering). Already applied and dinged by Sloan (which was my first choice because of prior Boston connections and interest in IT and biotech)
Goals for getting MBA: entrepreneurship opportunities through networking, positioning myself for future healthcare biotech consulting and possible VC roles, marketing/general management of organizations for health care administration
Questions are these:
1. Any perspective on whether it is better to get my application complete in the next couple of weeks in advance of the deadline for Fall entry or wait to get in early application for January entry?
2. Thoughts on value of retaking GMAT to increase my quant score to something actually representative of my strong math skills? Not every program requires the GMAT anyway (e.g., Kellogg in Miami, where I have already interviewed). I took it because some (CBS for example) do require it.
3. Programs I should be considering or any other advice to position myself well to get in to a top program?
Thanks a lot.
