https://mbaadmit.com/category/emba-embawebinars/ EMBA: MIT’s New Shorter Word Limits – Good or Bad? Compared with last year, this year’s MIT EMBA application has more essay topics to address. For several of the topics, you have a highly limited number of words to use, such as only 100 words.
Are short word limits good or bad? In general, the short word limits can be challenging. When you must address essay topics of 300 words or less, you have very limited space to make your case per each essay prompt. If you focus on less-than-ideal content, you can quickly waste the precious essay space you have. You don’t want the admissions committee reader to get to the last short prompt and feel they have no strong sense of your personality, range of skills, and unique experiences you can bring to the MIT EMBA class. Those elements make a significant difference when you are striving to gain admission to the MIT EMBA program, which claims to have the lowest admission rate among all the top U.S. EMBA programs. So, choose both your topics and words well so that you pack a lot of punch in a small space!
