EMBA Rankings 2016: The Top Programs Are… According to U.S. News and World Report rankings, based on 2016 compilation of the 2015 statistics, the top U.S. EMBA programs are:

4 Columbia University, New York, NY

Candidates often ask us at
MBA Admit.com whether we agree with the U.S. News and World Report rankings of top EMBA programs. In general, the right schools appear in these Top-11 rankings, although we do not necessarily agree with the precise order of the EMBA programs. Furthermore, some programs are vastly under-rated, in our opinion. For example, while U.S. News and World Report ranks USC’s Marshall at #20, you will find that if you intend to work in California, a degree from USC is held in very high esteem, with USC Marshall considered to be a Top-4 California business school (along with Stanford, UC Berkeley and UCLA). The ranking is therefore very understated from that
vantage point. Similarly, many professionals would prize an EMBA from MIT, but U.S. News and World Report has given Sloan a relatively low ranking at #11.
Which of the above EMBA programs do we consider to be the top 2 in 2016? Considering the quality of candidates we see admitted to the programs, the quality of the curriculums, the breadth and reach of the alumni network and the prestige of each school, we believe this list above has the top two correct: Wharton and Booth. However, the programs of schools like MIT, Columbia, Kellogg, UCLA and Cornell are also very impressive. It is great that the top business schools have decided to invest in their EMBA offerings because you have many outstanding choices and the particular circumstances of each applicant will determine which of the EMBA programs is truly ideal.
