Empty test center! Travel refund & discount on the $250?  [#permalink]

Dear all,

I hope I am at the right forum.
A month ago I registered for the GMAT exam. Today my GMAT exam was supposed to take place.
However, when I arrived at the test center it was empty, the whole building was empty! I called the test center and they told me they made mistake. They will call me on monday. Obviously, I could't take my GMAT exam, which really sucks since I started studying 2 months ago and was ready for it...

It is ridiculous that I can't even reschedule my exam without paying $250, but they can make such a mess :x

Does anyone have any advice? Can I get my travel costs refunded and a discount on the $250?

Thanks!

Hi,

I suggest you to write a detailed email to customercare@mba.com
I faced a powercut during my test and was offered a free retest. I think you should get one too...

PvH,

It really sucks when you put in your heart and soul into an exam and only to end up this way.
What has happened has already happened, I dont think we can do much now about it.
as ENEM pointed out, Immediately write to the your regional MBA.com centre. You may find the details here.

Gmac will either reschedule your exam for free or refund your money but I dont think they will reimburse your travel expenses.

Keep us posted.

Hey PvH

Welcome to GMATClub!

As EMEM has rightly suggested you should have no problem with getting
a free retake because clearly, this is not your problem. You should write a
detailed mail to them. However, I don't think you will be compensated for
travel as far as I have heard. All the best with the retake.

Consider it as a blessing in disguise. Work hard for the few days you have
leading up to the test and give your best shot when you get the retake. All
the best with the retake.

Hope this helps you!

P.S Moving the topic to the right forum

Have you reached out to the folks at GMAC to report the issue?
