I currently work as a software engineer in the Silicon Valley. In my current role, I build innovative technology and also interact with customers to solve their specific problems. Some of the problems I solve are complex and require me to connect pieces of information and analyze it. I plan to mention MC with a focus on high tech strategy as a short term goal. But I'm not sure how I can link my current skill set and experience to it. I would love to hear from folks who have gone from engineering to MC . More importantly , I would like to hear how you linked your pre MBA work experience with MC.
Many of skills are you are using now carries over. In MC, you have to be able to frame the problem/hypothesis, figure out the right questions to ask, and collect and analyze data to confirm the hypothesis. In MC, you are solving large scale business problems, instead of technical problems. Some skills that you need in MC are ability to convey your thoughts clearly and concisely, and to have presence during client interactions.
