Hi everyone!
I have been trying to follow the "golden advice" most of you gave to maintain an
error log. I am registered in a course and the instructor advised to specifically log in the OG questions.
However, I barely had time to study and actually solve the problems on daily basis and very little time to maintain the log.
the course I signed up for has a simple excel sheet
error log where you register the question number, what you did wrong, what's the takeway .. when I see, I will kind of conclusion and a date to revisit the question.
We have been advised as students to record all this by hand and to maintain a physical
Error log on paper (notebook) as writing down what went wrong and what you plan to rectify next time proved that it will stick more in the brain, rather than logging it on excel or using a kind of generated software tool. However, it seems to take me forever to register the problems manually. it would also take as much time to log them in an excel
error log. the biggest issue is when I want to review the problems in the log after couple of days, I cannot do that without having the OG book nearby. Sometimes I would like to do that during a commute for example and I need to find the question. I thought to may be use the excel sheet with hyperlinks to the question stem at least. or maybe create a column with the first few words of the question and look it up online? This will give easier access to the OG question but you won't be able to access your previous notes where you actually solved the question to even recall what you did wrong, as you solve on a scratch paper .. so it looks to me that you need your notes eventually .. now I am in a situation where I logged my errors without the reasons.. and it will take forever to go back to my notes where I actually solved the question.
what's your experience? do you find a big difference between logging manually versus excel? don't you feel the need to actually see your previous question solving technique drafted in order to really recall what you did wrong and enhance your takeaway ..
is there any format/template already developed so far that I can use? I found on GMAT club the last one shared but it's for 2021 OG and not 2022. Please I need help as I understood it can significantly boost the score.
thanks
