Hi alnewton,
First off, a 660/Q47 is a strong score (it's right around the 80th percentile overall), so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. There's certainly no harm in retesting though. Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of them here:
https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admission ... tants-124/GMAC has publicly stated that the Official Score that you earn on Test Day is within +/- 30 points of actual ability. Assuming a similar 'swing' in how your CATs function, your CAT score results - and Official GMAT Score - show that you essentially performed in the same range time (about 690 +/- a few points). This is meant to say that you could potentially have hit 700+ on Test Day, but you made a few too many mistakes and lost the points that you needed to get to that level.
Before we talk about your ESR, I have a few questions about how you've been studying and your goals:
Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) How have you scored on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for each)?
4) Did you take the FULL CAT each time (with the Essay and IR sections)?
Goals:
5) What is your exact goal score?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
7) What Schools are you planning to apply to?
