I am looking at the essay questions for a school and something is a little unclear. The admissions section of the website says to include in the application, "Two personal essays, articulating your choice of X University's School," but the essay questions are:
Question 1: Discuss your post-MBA career goals and how your work experience has influenced these goals. Include in your discussion: Why an MBA at this time? Which industry or functional area do you plan to pursue at the completion of your MBA?
Question 2: Describe a team experience where your leadership and interpersonal skills directly affected the outcome of the project. How will this experience impact your contribution as a team member at X School?
Technically, one can answer both questions without even saying the University's name and still be within the boundaries of the question. I have done much research on this school, but if I use what I have found about it to "articulate my choice of X University", I run the risk of going off topic. If I strictly answer the essay questions, I won't be "articulating my choice of X University." What should I do? Go off topic to explain why I chose X school or strictly stick to the essay questions?
The only thing I can think of would be something like telling how X school fits into my career plans for Question 1, but that is still going a bit off topic. Suggestions?
